Ford
Parts and logistics software at Ford Argentina.
Problem
Ford Argentina runs on software that's been around for a long time. Parts management, logistics, inventory, all running on legacy AngularJS. It works, but it's hard to maintain, hard to hire for, and every new feature fights the old stack.
Solution
I worked on the migration from AngularJS to Angular 8 and backend features in Java. The tricky part wasn't the code. It was keeping the system running while we changed it. You can't just rewrite a logistics system. You migrate piece by piece, test everything, and make sure the people using it every day don't notice the transition.
How
AngularJS to Angular 8 migration. Java Spring Boot backend. SQL-heavy features. Stakeholder management. Logistics teams don't like surprises.
Outcome
The system kept running while we modernized it. No downtime, no disruptions for the people on the floor.
